So the Judges: Mark, Jeanette, Rich (the dishwasher at the restaurant), and me. The were judged on plating, originality, and taste - 1 point for each.

My dad and Melissa each had to make an appetizer, entree, and dessert. Appetizer was 20 minutes and we did it before the reservations started to come and then we did the dinner and dessert rounds later when the place was closing down (30 minutes each.

The Ingredients: For appetizer they had to use brussel sprouts, beets, & apples. Entree: Pork, orange marmalade, & taco shells Dessert: Samoas, fluff, strawberries, & pickled watermelon. Yes, pickled watermelon rind. I have never seen it before and Jeanette and I were both very intrigued to try it. For some reason we both thought it would be sweetish - nope totally pickley. Weird.

What they made: Appetizer -
Dad: fried the apples in butter added terriyaki and cinn sugar, deep fried the beets and brussel sprouts and put them together.
Melissa: used apples and beets as a salsa to put over mahimahi on on a bed of brussel sprouts.
Dad won because you couldn't really taste any of the secret ingredients in Melissa's dish.

Entree -
Melissa made pork encrusted with smashed taco shells on a salad with an asiany dressing made with the marmalade.
Dad stuffed the pork with chopped apple, almonds, and a bit of pineapple then put it over a bed of sauteed kale & tomatoes w/crushed taco shells around and an orange glaze.
Melissa won this round because the dressing was really good although my dad's was interesting too

Dessert -
Melissa made pickled watermelon fritters w/ fluff and macerated strawberries & samoa crumbles.
Dad made a deep fried samoa topped w/ fluff and homemade whipped cream and then he candied the pickled watermelon and put that on top.
Dad won this round. I couldn't choose because both desserts were way too sweet. Both interesting and both had something I loved and something I hated in them. The watermelon fritters were very interesting though. I think my dad won over the other voters because of the deep fried samoas instead of just using crumbles around.

Overall:
It was fun and i want to do it again. The entrees were the best part and i would eat both of them again. Score: Dad 20 and Melissa 16.
