Jun. 12th, 2011 12:00 pmStill here. Still pregnant. 41 weeks Day 2
Blood pressure was okay yesterday (woohoo). Midwife would prefer to keep the Tuesday induction date depending on how things are going. We went over induction and what would happen in the longest case scenario - it could easily be another 3-4 days after the induction starts. I didn't cry this time as she went over everything. As much as I don't want it, I handled it much better
Being 41 weeks is kind of a nuisance. I have to do a 24 hour pee catch today (fun), tomorrow I need to get blood work and an ultrasound. Then I go back to the midwife on Tuesday morning to make sure my blood pressure is okay. At that point, if everything is okay, I can push the induction back. If anything is not okay/borderline bad, I'm better off just getting induced Tuesday night.
At the appointment, I did ask her to strip my membranes. Well, that was a joyous occasion. But, I imagine more things coming out of there will also be just as unpleasant so what can ya do. I had mild cramping and uncomfortableness (yeah, that's a word..), but I still don't think it brought on any contractions.
I was still about a cm dilated and 50% effaced and my cervix position was heading towards anterior which is a good thing. Last night I lost a big ole nasty glob of mucus plug so perhaps I'm more dilated now.
I'm not allowed to go back to work. I liked working though. It kept my mind off things and I really wanted to work until the end. But who knows when that'll be. Well, the latest they'll let me go is to start the induction on Friday so at least there is an ending in sight. A possible far far away ending, but an ending nonetheless.
