Feb. 10th, 2012 08:21 pmYesterday, day care called around noon and wanted us to pick up Ziva. Mark went and picked her up. She had diarrhea again and would only eat like an ounce or two of formula. Since she's had it off and on for a week and had it 3 times on Wednesday - apparently, she technically shouldnt have been there to begin with. How would I know though? So, the owner was like I'm sorry, I know you're at work. I was like no really, it's okay. Mark brought her back to the doctor. She has a stomach bug (duh).
He had us switch to soy formula for a few days since it digests easier (and stinks to holy heck), give her rice cereal (first time for that), and benedryl at night. I dont really understand the benedryl because she's sleeping fine but Mark explained that the doctor said this way it helps her intestines or something along those lines.
I stayed home from work today because we figured she probably shouldn't go back and why drop her off just to have to pick her up. Even though I'm sure she got the bug from day care - but whatever. She was acting absolutely fine all day. Happy smily giggling waving - all that fun stuff. Her poop is pretty much back to normal or just a bit loose - nothing like its been and she's only actually pooped 3x today as opposed to the 5-6x the last few days. She ate some rice cereal but didn't really seem like she was a fan. I gave her cheerios (I apparently just cant follow rules) but that made her happy since she could feed herself and wasn't being fed mush.
She's still not really drinking too much though. The doctor said to offer her an ounce or two every hour. She's totally not interested in that. I did a decent job getting in 3ish ounces every 2-3 hours. I kept offering hourly but she would just get all pissed off at me. I also made her take 3 long naps today since I know sleep helps me when I don't feel well. I'm guessing she'll be fine very soon. I think we're over the bulk of the stomach bug/virus.
