Jan. 17th, 2012 09:33 pmZiva has had a craptastic cold for the past few days. They said she was doing great at daycare today until around 4pm or so when she was getting cranky cause she was stuffy. Its tough for her to nap with a stuffy nose since she wants her pacifier in. She keeps pushing it in but with her stuffy nose, she spits it out, then pushes it back in. Rinse and repeat for cruddy sleep.
Last night, I felt myself fading quickly. I was not feeling well at all. I fell asleep on the way home from my parents, went to bed early, called in sick, and slept until 10:30 this morning. I'm feeling much better and definitely needed the extra sleep. It didnt help that Ziva woke up, kneeling/almost standing, in her crib crying around 12:30 last night. I tried soothing her for about 10 minutes but I felt crummy so I just brought her into bed and handed her over to Mark. He slept with her so I could sleep deeper which was nice.
Tonight, she was doing better. Her cheeks are a bit red so I put some chapped lip/cheek cream on them. Hopefully that helps. I put her to bed and she was laying and fussing. I figured I would give her a few minutes to see what she would do and if she would fall asleep. She stopped crying but was moving around. It was dark so I couldn't really see her clearly.. I sat and waited. Next thing I know, I hear a bonking sound. She was standing fully upright, just the tip of one finger on the side of the crib.. she bonked her chin so she started crying. I scooped her up and we rocked and rocked until she fell asleep. I hope she stays this way. We're testing out oatmeal again and gave it to her with dinner thinking maybe it will make her sleep more solidly.. because this teething and cold is kicking all our butts.
